We are delighted to bring you this new course in our post-qualifying suite of courses.
The Diploma in Counselling Adolescents has been developed as a response to the growing needs of young people for therapeutic support and to ensure counsellors develop the competencies for working with young people in this way.
There are 120 hours of contact across 17 study days and it has been developed in line with the BACP competency framework for counselling young people and will give you the theoretical knowledge and skills to work successfully, in any setting, with this age group.
Course Requirements
To be a qualified counsellor to level 4 Diploma or above with a minimum of 100 hours of supervised practice with clients.
Personal counselling: a minimum of 40 hours
by the end of the course. (This can include hours undertaken prior to the start of the course but at least 10 hours of personal counselling must be undertaken during the training year itself)
Client work: a minimum of 50 hours of formally contracted counselling (one to one) with young people including assessment. Although placements aren't provided by ICT we support students in finding a suitable and supportive placement in their local area.
Clinical supervision: either group or one to one supervision in person or online as per the supervision ration requirements of your membership body.
Course fee: £1750 (this can be paid in monthly instalments by agreement)
